With LAND IM LAND, the last premiere of the project series D³ - Dance Discovers Digital, choreographer Stephanie Thiersch creates a performance that raises the bond between people and across continents as a theme. In a colourful celebration, three communities gather on the stage of TOR6 between Toubab Dialaw and Bielefeld: the ensemble of TANZ Bielefeld, four dancers from Thiersch's Cologne company MOUVOIR and seven artists from Africa. The theatre laboratory TOR6 is transformed into a utopian living space in which an analogue and a virtual world unfold simultaneously. Territories merge and people who are nevertheless located far away in the world meet close to each other.
Through holographic projections, the presence of all the artists in the venue is felt in different ways and the concept of hospitality takes on a whole new meaning. Who invites to this party and who is invited? Or is one both guest and host? At the interface of dance and digital media art, Land im Land is an invitation to dive into speculative futures and scenarios of togetherness.
In cooperation with École des Sables, International Centre for Traditional and Contemporary African Dances, Toubab Dialaw, Senegal and MOUVOIR e.V.
