GROUND_ZEROES is the result of my semester abroad between 2015-2016 at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL) in Bogotá.

Through documentary video recordings, field recordings, and photographs, this work explored a tension between the dystopian (video level) and utopian (magazine level) perspectives on the consequences of hypermodernization within society and (sub/urban) living spaces of Colombia were created.

These two levels were further complemented with critical quotes on the consequences of neoliberal ideology from Byung-Chul Han's Psychopolitics, and several international libertarian theorists.

GROUND_ZEROES was presented during the 2017 Academy of Media Arts Cologne open days at Kunsthaus Rhenania, and re-exhibited in a version extended by a sculpture in 2018 as part of the Post-Conflict in Colombia Symposium, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the cooperation between KHM and UNAL.
